Energy-Saving Tips

The approaching winter brings colder weather and increased energy consumption. Fluctuating electricity prices and seasonal challenges make saving energy more important than ever. Here are a few tips to help you lower your electricity bill while promoting environmentally friendly living:

  1. Heating Your Apartment
    • Keep the room temperature between 20–22 °C. Each degree above 21 °C significantly increases heating costs.
    • Ensure radiators are unobstructed: avoid covering them with curtains or furniture.
    • If your apartment feels cold, check the seals on windows and doors. Contact maintenance if repairs are needed.
  1. Lighting
    • Use energy-efficient LED bulbs. They consume up to 90% less energy than traditional incandescent bulbs.
    • Turn off lights in rooms that are not in use.
  1. Electrical Appliances
    • Unplug chargers and other devices when not in use, as many consume energy in standby mode.
    • Use household appliances, such as washing machines and dishwashers, only when full. Use energy-saving programs whenever possible.
    • Set your fridge temperature to approximately +4 °C and your freezer to -18 °C. Lower settings unnecessarily increase energy consumption.
  1. Water Usage
    • Limit the use of hot water. For instance, shortening shower time saves both water and energy.
    • Turn off the tap while soaping your hands or brushing your teeth.
    • Avoid letting water run unnecessarily.

Energy-efficient choices are small daily actions that collectively have a significant impact on energy costs!
By saving energy, we can collectively help maintain reasonable rent levels while supporting sustainable living.
